Nursing Practice
The St. Barnabas Hospital College of Nursing with all its various specialities is made available to the students for clinical experience. Laboratories such as Nursing Foundation, Advance Nursing Skill Lab, MCH, Nutrition and Community health labs are available for students to practice nursing procedures.
Nutrition Lab
Nutrition lab is equipped with all the facilities for the students to assess the nutritional needs and to prepare different menus for various disease conditions. This well ventilate lab has the capacity to accommodate 40 students for their interactive training in nutrition.
MCH Lab
St. Barnabas Hospital College of Nursing provides excellent laboratory facilities for basic learning within Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Comprising latest articles and equipments. This laboratory is where student learn the basic skills of maternity and child health nursing prior to exposure to the clinical area. The lab contains various obstetrical charts related to antenatal, intranasal and postnatal care, including models to practice the conduct of labour . It also includes baby mannequins to practice nursing procedures, growth charts, and immunization schedules and play materials for different age group. The aim of the MCH lab is to achieve excellence in basic and applied teaching relating to child health and obstetrics & gynecology.
Nursing Foundation Lab
Nursing Foundation Lab is a patient simulator. Nursing is an art and science that needs a lot of practice. The Nursing Foundation lab is the practical area of the students, where they perform all nursing procedures prior to the exposure to the clinical field. The faculty uses the lab for various demonstrations of procedures in nursing. This spacious laboratory is well equipped with patient simulator, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation mannequin, life form hand simulation, etc. in addition to the facilities in real ward situation.
Pre Clinical Science Laboratory
Labs designed to help students gain knowledge of the structure and function of the human body. The lab has excellent infrastructure forming the basis of deeper understanding of body functions.
Computer Lab
Computer lab is available for students to enhance their computer skills.
Community Health Nursing Lab
Well developed urban & rural community centers are at the disposal of students for meaningful community health nursing experience.
Library
SBHCON has adequate library facilities with sufficient number of nursing and allied sciences books. Library service with audiovisual aids is available to help the students in their learning process. They shall follow all the rules of the library.
Transport Facility
The College provides adequate transport facilities for students during the hospital and community trainings duly accompanied by our teaching staffs.
Hostel Facility
The hostel also has a spacious mess and modern kitchen to ensure that students are served with nutritious food in a good ambience.
